Why I'm building aufguss.app

From Levente Nádai (Lete) - saunamaster, software architect.

Levente Nádai (Lete)I'm Levente Nádai - most people call me Lete. I'm a saunamaster. I finished the basic certification in September 2024 and passed the professional exam in October.

By trade, I'm a software developer - I've been writing code for over thirteen years and currently work as a software architect. Outside of programming, wellness - and especially thermal bathing - has always been the way I switch off.

Until I was 25, sauna was just "a hot room where we sweat for fifteen minutes." Then, on a vacation back home, I walked into a hotel sauna during an Aufguss session for the first time. The saunamaster brought scents, used towel techniques, and told stories about the program. That was my baptism by fire - it opened up the depth and possibility of sauna for me.

I started practising at home, building on that experience with friends and family - adding aromas, towel work. For years I planned to take the saunamaster training, but work always got in the way. In the end, my wife and family gave me the course as a 33rd birthday present, and since then I've been actively running sessions and competing.

I built aufguss.app for the same reason I needed it: there was no good way to review my own pours. Phone in the corner, single angle, missing my footwork, no way to leave a note at a specific moment, no way to share it with a coach or training group without ten WhatsApp messages.

So I built the room I wished I had. Multi-camera sync, frame-by-frame annotations, timestamped feedback, private groups, and a structured way to learn. It's free for the community. I'd love to share the experience of saunamastering with you here too.
